Neymar is now the highest-paid footballer in the world after signing a new five-year contract with Barcelona, according to Marca.

The Brazil star committed his future to the Spanish giants on Friday, ending speculation linking him with both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, with his release clause increasing to €250 million.

And the Spanish daily newspaper also claims Neymar will now take home €25m per year after tax, eclipising Lionel Messi's world-record salary for a footballer of €22m.
