Real Madrid offer Cristiano Ronaldo huge contract, James Rodriguez up for sale

Ronaldo’s reward

The Tuesday just gone was a big one for Real Madrid. The club have followed up their Champions League triumph over Atletico Madrid on Saturday by focusing on the future. First, they made a bid for Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba. This wasn’t successful. There’s more to write on that story, no doubt.
Their next offer looks like it will go down a great deal better. Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be rewarded for another stellar season in front of goal, culminating with the winning penalty in that shoot-out, with a bumper contract offer. His current deal expires in 2017, Madrid want to extend that.
El Confidencial report that there’s an offer on the table for Ronaldo to stay at the club until 2020 (by which time he will be 35 years old) and earn a whopping €60 million after tax. That’s a lot of cash. Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Madrid’s general director Jose Angel Sanchez to discuss the deets.

Transfer Listed James

Unfortunately there’s no such security for James Rodriguez. The Colombian has fallen out of favour at Madrid and didn’t play a single minute of the final in Milan, watching proceedings unfold from the bench. The club have put him up for sale and you can see him down at your local ground if your local club stump up €80 million
