ATLETICO MADRID chairman Enrique Cerezo claims Chelsea aren't crazy enough to let Diego Costa leave Stamford Bridge.
Costa was repeatedly linked with a return to his former stomping ground over the summer.
But Antonio Conte was determined to keep the maverick target man at Stamford Bridge.
And Cerezo reckons the Blues would be crazy to let him depart.
“Diego Costa has a contract with Chelsea, and I don’t think they’re crazy enough to let him leave," he told Spanish newspaper AS.
Cerezo admitted last month that he did attempt to coax Costa back to Spain.
He told Spanish media outlet Cadena COPE: “Costa is a magnificent player.
“Diego Costa has a contract with Chelsea, and I don’t think they’re crazy enough to let him leave”
We had the option to bring him back, but Chelsea did not let him leave."
Costa has been in impressive form for the west Londoners this season.
He's already bagged six goals for Antonio Conte's men.
