Rising to fame with the equalising goal in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, Yannick Carrasco has seen his online fanbase rapidly expand

After his personal heroics in the Champions League final, Yannick Carrasco has seen his online popularity grow with Atletico Madrid fans.
Having proven a key factor in the game, coming on at half time to score the equaliser only for Real Madrid to win on penalties, Carrasco has been his follower count on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram soar.
A study was taken on the day of the final at Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last Saturday and then the following day, and Carrasco’s saw the biggest growth with over 90,000 social media users deciding to follow him after his performance.
His coach, Diego Simeone, had predicted his impact the previous week at Atleti’s open Media Day.
As a result, his followers on Twitter stand at over 50,000, with 278,000 on Instagram and 117,000 on Facebook.
After an impressive season, Carrasco’s focus now switches to Euro 2016 with Belgium this summer.
