PIERRE EMERICK-AUBAMEYANG has suggested he will stay at Borussia Dortmund despite reports linking him with a move to the Premier League
Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has hinted he will not leave Borussia Dortmund
Aubameyang announced himself as one of the most deadly strikers in world football last season, bagging 39 goals in 49 appearances.
And this has lead to him being linked with a number of top Premier League clubs, predominantly Arsenal.
The Gabon international's team-mate Daniel Cousin told the BBC this week he thinks Aubameyang wants to move to England and he has been urged to move to the Gunners.
“I think he wants to move to England,” Cousin said.
“If I was choosing his club it would be Arsenal because the team play very well.
“Arsenal need another striker if they are to win the title and I think if he played with Mesut Ozil and his assists, he would play very well.”
However, Aubameyang has today played down reports linking him with a move away from Dortmund, confirming he's 'really good' at the German club and has sat down for talks to discuss his future.
"I feel really good in Dortmund, I don’t know what the future brings but I feel really good," he told German website Fussballtransfers.
"This is why I cancelled the trip with the Gabon national team, I had meetings with the board to talk about the future
And in the wake of losing two key players - Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich, it seems unlikely Aubameyang will leave.
"It’s strange to lose two key players, especially since they were the backbone of the team," he added.
"But I trust the club. There are many ways to find solutions and to make good transfers."
