The new Manchester United manager is expected to be busy in the transfer window as he overhauls the squad left to him by Louis van Gaal.
Reports over the weekend claimed he was ready to spend every penny of the £200m budget that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will hand to him.
United have been linked with a number of Portuguese players but Mourinho insists none of his compatriots will be joining him at Old Trafford.
"I won't be signing any player from Portugal," Mourinho said in a lecture at Lisbon University today.
United have been tracking Sporting Lisbon’s Joao Mario and Valencia’s Andre Gomes but Mourinho’s comments put those deals in doubt.
Starsport exclusively revealed earlier this month that United were willing to pay Mario’s £45m release clause to sign the Portugal international.

And Spanish newspaper SuperDeporte claimed yesterday that super-agent Jorge Mendes, who boasts Mourinho among his clients, was convinced Gomes would be joining the former Chelsea boss at United.
United had also heavily scouted Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches but he decided to join Bayern Munich instead
