Jose Mourinho insists he won't be drawn into a personal battle with Pep Guardiola
Mourinho was appointed United manager last week and will be joined by incoming City boss Guardiola in the north west this summer.

Mourinho and Guardiola have a famously fractious relationship from their time as rival managers at Real Madrid and Barcelona.

But when asked how he would treat Guardiola in the Premier League, the Portuguese insisted he would not be getting into personal battles.
[What has happened in the past] does not allow me to be innocent," Mourinho said at a lecture on football coaching to post-graduates at Lisbon University in Portugal today.

"For? two years Pep and I were in a league where the champion would be either me or him, Real Madrid or Barcelona.

"In a situation like this,? individual fights make sense because they can influence things. [But] in the Premier League, if I focus on him and Manchester City, and he on me and Manchester United, someone else is going to win the league."

Mourinho is expected to move for Sweden superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is available on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Chelsea boss also wants Chelsea winger Willian, Everton defender John Stones and Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

And when asked about whether Ibrahimovic would be joining him at Old Trafford, Mourinho was tight-lipped.

"My good friends always rave about me,” Mourinho said about the 34-year-old.

And when asked whether he would be signing anyone from Portugal, he answered: "No, I will definitely not take anyone [from Portugal] to Old Trafford."
