– The Chelsea manager reacts to Mourinho’s words Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has finally reacted to the words of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after Sunday’s 4:0 humiliation.
Mourinho’s return to his former club did not go well as Manchester United lost 4 – 0 to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The match lived up to its billing as both teams showed their might in the contest but the Blues were the eventual winners in the grudge match. Despite trailing 4-0, Manchester fans were the loudest and
that sparked the Chelsea manager into marching up and down the touchline urging the Chelsea crowd to make more noise.
Conte will be screaming at his players to get the result against Man United
And Mourinho’s reaction was picked up by nearby microphones. He said: “Don’t do that (celebrate) at 4 – 0. 1-0 okay, but 4 – 0 is humiliating”. When asked what he told Conte, Mourinho refused to comment.
In his turn Conte reacted: “I was listening to the support of Manchester United, always supporting their team and after a great win like this I was asking my fans to do a clap for the players for the performance.”
He stressed: “I think this is normal. All the players deserve this clap.” Conte added: “When there is a private conversation it is right to remain private,
I have great respect for Jose, he is a great manager and he won a lot here”. Speaking about the game the manager noted: “I am pleased with a great performance. We started very well, with high intensity and moving the ball quickly, creating chances to score the goal.
“I see the commitment of the players in training every day and they deserve this. We are improving; we must continue to work, because only through the work we can improve. We know that we have a long way to go, but I’m satisfied.”
