Cristiano Ronaldo has reiterated his desire to finish his career at Real Madrid, where he’s claimed two UEFA Champions League titles and has six-straight years with 50 or more goals.
The 31-year-old Portugal captain was speaking ahead of Euro 2016, where A Selecção das Quinas will tangle with Iceland, Austria and Hungary in Group F.
The report also says Real is looking to extend Ronaldo’s contract.
“I am going to retire at Real Madrid at more than 40 years of age. I am very happy here and I work hard to achieve that,” he told AS.
Ronaldo had previously stated a desire not to retire in a lesser league, and this isn’t the first time he’s mentioned his fifth decade and Real Madrid in the same sentence.
Remember that Ronaldo speaks highly of his love for the tradition at Manchester United, where he played with club legends like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs. The former played until 39 and the latter to 40, and neither changed clubs.
