Blind could be surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
Barcelona are said to be interested in Manchester United defender Daley Blind according to Spanish outlet Sport.
It appears that Blind could be one of the first casualties of the Jose Mourinho era at Old Trafford and the report suggests a fee in the region of 18 million Euros (£13.8 million) could be enough to do a deal.
It has been reported by Sky Sports that Blind, along with teammate Juan Mata, could be surplus to requirements at United as Mourinho gets to work on trying to build a side capable of winning the Premier League title once again.
The small stature of Blind means he would not be the kind of defender that fits the profile that Mourinho prefers, as he seems to like dominant and strong defenders, but United would be losing a player that can play in a variety of positions.
Since his arrival at United, Blind has played in central midfield and left-back as well as at the heart of the United defence.
The Daily Mirror reports that Barcelona have been keen on signing a 'young, top level' centre back this summer, but have been frustrated at missing out on other targets.
Blind's versatility could at least provide the La Liga Champions with a good option going forward even if he does not necessarily fit all of their criteria.
