Former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Scholes has signed a three-year deal to play in India's new futsal league.
The 41-year-old retired from professional football in 2013 after making more than 700 appearances for the Red Devils and winning 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League trophies.
Scholes's decision to come out of retirement was announced by the Premier Futsal league's social media channels on Thursday morning.
"Futsal is a fascinating format that has played a pivotal role in developing the skills of some of the greatest football players," Scholes told Sky Sports News.
"Premier Futsal will be a great way to introduce the sport to India and I'm looking forward to meeting the fans across India who I know are some of the most passionate in the world."
Former Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder Deco is also lined up to play in the league, which runs from July 15-26 and whose president is Portugal legend Luis Figo.
