Juventus lead Chelsea and Man Utd in the race to sign Andre Gomes, according to reports in Italy
Chelsea and Manchester United look set to miss out on Andre Gomes after Juventus opened talks with Valencia over a deal for the forward, according to reports in Italy.
The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Chelsea and United in this summer’s transfer window.
His compatriot Jose Mourinho took over the reins at Old Trafford last month following Louis van Gaal’s sacking after a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte, meanwhile, is set to take charge of the 2015 English champions after Euro 2016 as he bids to guide Italy to European championship glory in France.
According to Gazzetto dello Sport, Conte’s former club Juventus are leading the race to sign Gomes after entering into negotiations with Valencia over the promising playmaker.
Gomes, who is currently on international duty with Portugal at Euro 2016, scored three times and made three assists in 30 La Liga appearances last season.
