Arsenal told they must trigger Ricardo Rodriguez’s release clause before July 1 to seal transfer

Arsenal told they have seven days to sign quality Euro 2016 star

Arsenal have been told they must trigger Ricardo Rodriguez’s release clause by July 1 if they want to sign him.
The Gunners are believed to be keen on signing the 23-year-old, who is currently representing Switzerland at Euro 2016, but now face a race against time if they want to get the deal done.
Both Rodriguez and Wolfsburg team-mate Luiz Gustavo have been told that the club will not negotiate cheaper fees should other sides fail to trigger their respective release clauses by the end of June.
And Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has insisted the duo’s prices will inflate after that time despite Rodriguez being keen to leave.

‘We are on the alert and we are prepared,’ he told Kicker.
‘They will not get cheaper, rather the opposite.’
Despite reiterating Rodriguez had told the club ‘he sees his future elsewhere’, he warned the Switzerland international may not be able to leave.
‘There is enough time to come to a decision during that period,’ Allofs added.
‘We’d need to internally discuss a transfer at a later date.’
