Manchester United could replace Ryan Giggs with Brian Kidd

Incoming Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho could replace Ryan Giggs with Manchester City coach Brian Kidd.
This has been reported by the Manchester Evening News, who claim that Mourinho is set to hold a meeting with Giggs to discuss whether he is open to working under the new regime.
United fans are still waiting patiently for the club to officially appoint Mourinho as Louis van Gaal's replacement.

Van Gaal, who lifted the FA Cup for United as recently as Saturday, was dismissed from his duties on Monday after failing to guide the club to a top four finish.
The future of Giggs, who has been the Red Devils' assistant manager for the past three years, has been the subject of much debate recently.

All change at United

Giggs, of course, has been involved in the Manchester United ranks for the last 29 years and could finally depart the club in pursuit of a new challenge.
Now, then, it's all about Mourinho and it appears that he could be about to shake things up at the Theatre of Dreams. While MEN suggest that United are set to offer Giggs a downgraded role in Manchester, the potential addition of Kidd would most definitely prove an intriguing one for all involved.

Kidd has a history with United, of course; the City co-assistant manager previously played and coached for the Red Devils and would make a fine coup for the club.
It's all change at City, too, with Pep Guardiola set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at the helm before the start of the 2016/17 campaign.
The report from MEN claims, however, that City don't want to lose Kidd but suggests that he could be tempted to return to United.
For now, United fans will eagerly watch on to see how things develop with Mourinho, Giggs, Kidd and co. over the coming days and weeks.

One thing is for sure, the rivalry in Manchester is only going to become even more intense next season.
Mourinho and Guardiola have one of the most exciting rivalries world football has ever seen and the 2016/17 campaign could be the most exciting yet.

Both managers will be well aware that there's a great deal of work to be done at their respective clubs, but there's every chance that they could be battling out for the Premier League title in the immediate future.
