Gerard Pique mocks Real Madrid: Keep making movies, while Barcelona win trophies

Gerard Pique has told Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid to continue making “movies” while his side keep on lifting silverware.
This season’s title race in La Liga went to the final day, with Barcelona coming out on top after beating Granada 3-0.
And Pique, who is known for his fierce loyalty to the Catalans, has poked fun at Barca’s long-standing rivals Real, suggesting they can carry on making films while his club win trophies.
“They can make their movies, we will keep doing what we have to and adding titles to our museum,” said Pique, as reported by Sport.
“Everyone makes their own way from when it all started. Since I came here, we made our way and they made theirs. And you can look at the statistics.”
Since returning from Manchester United ahead of the 2008/09 season Pique and Barcelona have enjoyed incredible success.
The Spain international has won six championships, three Copa del Reys and three European Cups in eight seasons. By contrast Real have collected one championship, two Copa del Reys and one European Cup.
And Pique is aware that not everybody wants Barcelona to keep on dominating in Spain, admitting that people want new idols.
“Obviously the people want new champions because if the same team wins it doesn’t interest anybody, only those from that club,” he added.
“The people want new idols, new hopes that other teams win and when there’s a hegemony like this, obviously there is interest in other teams winning.”
Barcelona’s final game this season is the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on Sunday, with Pique’s side hoping to seal a double after their La Liga crown
