Diego Simeone rates Antoine Griezmann as the world's third best player

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have nailed down their place as the world's best two players for the foreseeable future, but that still leaves third place up for grabs.
While the Messi vs. Ronaldo debate rumbles on, an equally interesting question remains over who follows them as the next best.
Thankfully, Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has flung that conversation wide open by suggesting that one of his players should be considered in the top three players in the world

GRIEZMANN'S RECOGNITION

Antoine Griezmann has been instrumental in Atleti's recent success, scoring the crucial goal in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich that took his side to the final.
"Griezmann clearly has a lot of talent. He has worked very hard, pushed himself and knows how to listen.

FACING RONALDO

"The best way to improve in any job is to listen. Without doubt, he is one of the best three players in the world."
Atletico will face city rivals Real Madrid on May 28 in a rematch of the 2014 final, a game which Simeone's team lost in agonising fashion, leading until the 93rd minute when Sergio Ramos took it to extra time.
This time, Griezmann is in such good form that he could well make the difference. He will be coming up against arguably the world's best in Ronaldo, but if he can put his stamp on the game, Simeone's comments will definitely have to be given some serious thought.
Is Antoine Griezmann the world's third best player? Have your say in the comments.
