Barcelona players throw egg and flour on Dani Alves to celebrate birthday
Some players expect a cake or a few presents, but Barcelona players had a different sort of birthday greeting forDani Alves on Friday morning.
The Brazil international celebrates his 33rd birthday today and as per usual the squad linked up at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for training ahead of the clash with rivals Espanyol on Sunday.
However, while Alves drove in for a sunny day of training and birthday celebrations, his team-mates instead welcomed him with eggs and flour – both of which were thrown at the defender.
Alves took to Instagram to post a photo of him and some of his team-mates, with the former Sevilla man drenched in the products from head to toe.
Alves also jokingly felt his team-mates should have paid him some
respect considering his age, after raising the matter in his caption.
Meanwhile, Turkey international and fellow team-mate Arda Turan also posted a picture of him and Alves at training, which had a caption reading: ‘Happy birthday bro (have a good Friday)’.
Alves is one of Barcelona’s longest-serving players within the current squad, having been with the Catalan giants since 2008.
