– Victor Moses has described life under former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho frustrating
– The Super Eagles winger had three loan spells while the Portuguese was still in charge
– The 25-year-old has enjoyed life under new boss Antonio Conte scoring three goals Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has said that life under former coach Jose Mourinho at Chelsea was frustrating for him.
The 25-year-old had three loan spells in two years with Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham while the Portuguese was in charge at Stamford Bridge but he is now enjoying life under new manager Antonio Conte.
Moses said: “I think we chatted a couple of times on the phone – he asked if I was alright at Liverpool [where Moses spent the 2013-14 season on loan], but that was it.”
After playing well during The Blues pre-season, the former Wigan Athletic player has been able to cement a place under the Italian tactician in the new season and have made comparisons between both managers.
“The manager came to me and said, I feel that you’re working hard, I really enjoy watching you play and I don’t want you to go out on loan,
” Moses said when recalling a conversation with Conte before the season began. “When he said that to me I was really pleased. To be honest, I just want to go out there, enjoy my football and work hard for him. He’s played the game before, he understands it and he understands how players feel.”
The Nigerian international has rewarded Conte faith in him by scoring three goals for the London club against Burnley and Leicester City in the Premier League while adding another against Bristol City at the EFL Cup.
Moses missed the all important World Cup qualifier against Zambia owing to injury problems and reports have it that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will penalize the player for subbing his country.
