Former Radio 1 DJ and convicted paedophile Chris Denning has been sentenced to another 13 years in prison for a string of "utterly depraved" sex assaults on young boys, including at Walton Hop Disco.
The 75-year-old, who was part of the original line-up of Radio 1 DJs in 1967, pleaded guilty to more than 20 offences involving 11 victims, aged between eight and 15, between 1969 and 1986.
This afternoon at Southwark Crown Court, Judge Alistair McCreath QC jailed Denning for 13 years - the exact sentence he gave Denning in 2014 – of which he will have to serve a minimum of nine years.
The charges came as part of Operation Ravine, the investigation into historic child sex offences linked to the Walton Hop Disco, which is now the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, in Hurst Grove.
Denning admitted to assaulting four boys at the venue in August.
The court had earlier heard that Denning had offered one of his teenage victims to another BBC presenter.
Sentencing Judge McCreath told Denning: "You groomed all of these boys. They were, for the most part, in their early teens, although some of them were younger.
"You used your own fame, your acquaintance with others who were famous, your familiarity with the music industry, your possession of computers and computer games and other devices to win their trust and their misplaces admiration.
"You provided them with drink, alcoholic or otherwise, and with cigarettes.
"You showed them pornographic material. You introduced them to inappropriate sexual behaviour by making it seem normal and exciting.
"You photographed some of them. On occasions the sexual activity took place in the presence of other children."
He added: "The effect on these boys, now men in their middle age, has been, as it to be expected, devastating.
"At a critical stage in their development from childhood into adolescence, they were corrupted.
"They were introduced to sexual behaviour before they were ready for it and their introduction to it was in circumstances which which were in all possible ways inappropriate and utterly depraved.
Denning, who has prison terms in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, has been treated for cancer and heart problems, suffers from Parkinson's and is receiving treatment for a spinal condition.
Jonathan Polnay, prosecuting, told the court that Denning would “take [the victim] out for pizza”, “took him on holiday” and on “tours of radio stations”, adding: “On one occasion, another Radio 1 DJ was present.
“Denning offered [the victim] to him. The DJ replied that he didn’t do that sort of thing.”
Denning, who was friends with Jimmy Savile and prolific paedophile Gary Glitter, lured his victims with booze and cigarettes, and threatened them to keep quiet, saying his cellar where he kept his dogs was “where naughty boys who told secrets came”.
