You would have thought Moussa Sissoko wouldn't have had much trouble finding a new club after his Euro 2016 heroics for France earlier this summer.
The man that starred for Didier Deschamps' side looked an entirely different animal to the one who had struggled for any sort of consistency throughout his spell at Newcastle.
And after Real Madrid have seemingly lost out on both Andre Gomes and Paul Pogba, it looked like it was only a matter of time before Sissoko was paraded in front of the Bernabeu faithful.
In fact, only yesterday there were reports suggesting Zinedine Zidane was even prepared to offer two of his own players to go in the other direction in order to secure the Frenchman.
But there has been another twist in the tale and reports in Spain are now suggesting the Champions League winners have dropped their interest entirely.
