  • Kelechi Iheanacho will not play at the Olympics because Pep Guardiola wants him to stay at Manchester City for vital pre-season training.
    The teenage striker was named in Nigeria's provisional 35-man squad for the Rio extravaganza.
    But Iheanacho - who would have missed a chunk of pre-season preparations - has been informed by City he will not be released.

    Iheanacho would have jumped at the chance to represent Nigeria in an ideal world, but is understood to accept the decision to hold him back.
    'If your country wants to play for them you surely have to go so, but it's not up for me to decide,' he said.
    'I don't know if they have decided – my team and my country, I don't know if they have concluded or not.'
