Manchester United’s newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho has signalled his intention to win “everything” at his new club.
During an interview with Manchester United’s official website, the Portuguese tactician stated that he wont be satisfied until he has achieved “everything” at United.
“I understand that they expect a lot from me but I also expect a lot from them,” said Mourinho.
“There is no chance we will be happy if we are not together and I think the passion [they have] for this club is really amazing.
“It’s a new chapter in the club’s life. Always when you change a manager, I feel it is a sad moment, but it is a new chapter now.
“We have brought a few new faces in, we will keep some others but, in the end, it doesn’t matter who the manager is, it doesn’t matter who the new players are or who is staying or leaving, it’s Man United and Man United is much more than any one of us.
“The passion the fans have is for the club and I feel that I am a club man.”
The former Chelsea boss takes charge of his first game as United manager on Saturday against Wigan Athletic.
The Red Devils have already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from PSG, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund and the young defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal this summer. The Sun states that United could also be on the verge of completing a mega-money deal for Pogba with Real Madrid dropping out of the race to sign him.
Manchester United will be without Champions League football this season after the Red Devils finished last season in sixth place with 66 points in 38 games.
Mourinho was fired from previous last job at Chelsea following a disastrous start to the 2015-16 season. The former Inter Milan boss has been out of work since December.
