Gareth Bale gets engaged to high-school sweetheart Emma Rhys-Jones

Bale gets engaged

The Welsh ace popped the question to his long-time partner and will soon be a married man.
Gareth Bale has enjoyed the most memorable two days of his life. The Real Madrid superstar celebrated his birthday on Saturday, turning 27, before proposing to his girlfriend the following day.
And her response was “yes”, as revealed by the player himself on his official Facebook account, meaning the world’s most expensive football player will soon add married to his list of achievements.

Who is the special girl?

Her name is Emma Rhys-Jones – 26 – and she has been beside the former Tottenham ace for a long time. The two have been together since high school, though there has been no official engagement until now.

The two met in Cardiff, and she has long been supportive of a football career that has led Gareth to Europe’s biggest club. Emma stayed beside the Welsh ace as he pursued his dream, but the two were always together whenever the change emerged.
"She stayed at home in Cardiff while he pursued his soccer career and she did some hairdressing for a while. Whenever Gareth had time off he would be straight down the M4 to see her and his family," a friend stated, as per The Express.

Emma’s social media presence

Unfortunately, she has no social media presence. The soon-to-bed bride keeps a very private life with her hubby, rarely making appearances. She was, though, seen cheering on her now-fiancée whilst holding their child during Wales’ 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.

Not yet married but already a family

Bale and Emma will tie the knot, sooner or later. However, the two already share a family. Having been together since their teenage days, they have two children together. The eldest of their babies is Alba Violet, born in October 2012. May 2016 saw the introduction of their second child: Nava Valentina.
2016 has so far been a tremendous year for the world’s most expensive player. Having won a second Champions League crown in late May, he then traveled to France to remarkably guide his national side all the way to the UEFA Euro 2016 semi-final.
