The father of Paul Pogba says the midfielder wants to play in a more competitive league than Italy’s Serie A – and says Real Madrid would be an “interesting” destination.
The Juventus and France star is wanted by clubs across Europe after four years in Italy that have brought four league titles, two Coppa Italia wins and a Champions League final in 2014-15
Despite a disastrous start, Max Allegri’s Juve won the title by nine points last season, losing just five games overall and conceding only 20 goals in their 38 matches.
Pogba, 23, is heavily linked with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea and his dad believes he needs to be playing in a stronger, more competitive league to reach his full potential.
“Sign for Real Madrid? Interesting, yes,” Fassou Antoine Pogba told Spanish TV station Cuatro.
“What we want is that he plays in a better league. He’ll decide which team he’s going to play for. Pogba, viewed by some as the best young player in the world, is currently playing at Euro 2016 with France – although he hasn’t quite set the tournament alight as some were expecting.
He has played some part in all four games but is yet to score a goal or create an assist, although he has hit four shots on target and hit the bar once.
Pogba and hosts France will face England’s conquerors Iceland on Sunday in the quarter final of the competition. The winner of that game will face the winner of Italy and Germany’s titanic clash
