Vidal slams Atletico’s “ugly football”

Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has branded Atletico Madrid’s football “ugly” and believes that they have unfairly progressed to the Champions League Final.

“Today ugly football – Atletico – played against the best football in the world,” said the Chilean international.

“The only time they saw the ball was for the goal. The best does not always win in football, like today. They are not deserved finalists.” he added.

Vidal was clearly very frustrated by Bayern’s inability to break down Atletico’s superbly resilient defence but these comments have a very bitter taste as many would argue Atletico played a fantastic away game, got their tactics spot on and fully deserve their place in the final.
