Manchester United to announce Jose Mourinho today: £34.8m three-year deal agreed

MANCHESTER UNITED will unveil Jose Mourinho as their new manager tonight, according to reports.

Express Sport understands Mourinho has been confident for weeks that he will be appointed boss at the end of the season.
And when Manchester City's fourth place finish ensured Louis van Gaal could not qualify for next season's Champions League, the writing appeared to be on the wall for the Dutchman

However, there was some speculation that lifting the FA Cup could force the United board to allow him to see out his current deal which expires in 2017.

The deal is said to have been done weeks ago with Mourinho signing a pre-contract that would see the Red Devils pay him 'millions' in compensation if they do not hire him.
The contract is expected to see Mourinho paid £11.6million a year with the deal extending until 2019
The former  boss has alas supposedly asked Ed Woodward to give him license to overhaul the United squad this summer.
Incoming Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is expected to spend big over the summer and Mourinho is reportedly desperate not to be left behind
