Louis van Gaal refuses to accept he will leave Manchester United at the end of the season after insisting it was the club who wanted him to sign a three-year deal.
The Dutchman, who replaced David Moyes at Old Trafford in 2014, said on Friday he has been involved in planning for next season despite continued speculation over his future.
United have an FA Cup final against Crystal Palace to look forward to and still harbour hopes of finishing in the top four, but with Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to take over in the summer, Van Gaal is adamant he will still be there next season because it was always the plan.

Man Utd have no agreement with Jose Mourinho -

Sky Sports News HQ understands no agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Jose Mourinho over the manager's job at Old Trafford.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss is reportedly keen on the post should United look to replace Louis van Gaal in the summer.
Speculation continues to surround Van Gaal's future despite the Dutchman leading United to their first FA Cup final for nine years and with them still in contention for a place in next season's Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Laurent Blanc is another linked with the post but Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino is out of the running after agreeing a new five-year deal with the Londoners.
After appointing two managers in the three years since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, Sky sources understand United's executive chairman Ed Woodward is still mulling over whether Van Gaal will see out the remaining 12 months of his three-year contract.
United currently sit fifth in the table, five points adrift of Manchester City and Arsenal in third and fourth respectively, though they do have a game in hand and those two sides still have to play one another.

Jamie Redknapp discusses the future of the Man Utd boss

Their top-four hopes would suffer a major blow if they lost to title-chasing Leicester on Super Sunday and Van Gaal says his side cannot afford any more slip-ups.
"I think we have to beat Leicester because we are still in the race for the first positions so we have to beat them," Van Gaal said.

"We have to close the gap so the pressure is on us still. We have to win every game that we have to play. City still have to play against Arsenal, though, so one of those shall lose points.
"We are fighting for the qualification of the Champions League and we are still in the FA Cup, so we have to fight for something and we shall do it. Hopefully, we can beat Leicester City."

Jamie Redknapp: Arsenal protest against Arsene Wenger a waste of time

Jamie Redknapp believes the protests against Arsene Wenger during Arsenal's win over Norwich were a "waste of time".
A section of the Emirates voiced its frustration at the club's lack of progress in the 12th and 78th minutes of Arsenal's 1-0 win on Saturday.
The Gunners have gone 12 years without a Premier League title and face a battle just to finish in the top four this season, but Redknapp was not impressed by the demonstrations.

"It was a waste of time really, wasn't it? They should save the trees rather than putting paper up like that," Redknapp said on Saturday Night Football.
"It didn't really work for me. Obviously there's a section of them that are unhappy with what Arsene Wenger is doing and that's understandable, but it was sporadic."

After the game Wenger apologised to supporters left disillusioned by the club's results, although the win over relegation-threatened Norwich has boosted their hopes of a top-four finish.
Arsenal sit in third place, three points clear of Manchester City, who face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium on Super Sunday, and two points behind second-placed Tottenham.
Redknapp believes the club's board must have a conversation regarding Wenger's future at the end of the season, but predicts the manager will remain in charge if Arsenal secure Champions League qualification.

"You can see it hurts Wenger more than anybody, but they have to look at it and see where they finish at the end of the season," he added.
"If they finish above Tottenham, which is possible, it might not be such a bitter taste in the mouths of Arsenal fans.
"They certainly have to have a discussion about it. I think the only reason when they could make a change would be if they didn't get in the top four.
"Then the fans will want it forced, but if they finish in the top four I think we'll be seeing the same things next year."
