Liverpool to finalise deal with Loris Karius by next week

Despite failure to qualify for a European competition, it’s likely to be a busy summer at Liverpool.
However, it seems Jurgen Klopp isn’t willing to wait for the transfer window to open to start negotiations with transfer targets.
That’s because Goal.com are reporting that the club are expected to announce the signing of goalkeeper Loris Karius by next Wednesday.
The 22-year-old is currently playing for Klopp’s former side, Mainz, but he will likely finalise a £4.7 million transfer to Merseyside in the coming days

Despite being relatively young for a goalkeeper, Karius has already played 91 times in the Bundesliga for the German side. The ‘keeper had a release clause of under £8 million but Mainz are willing to allow the Germany Under-21 international to leave for a lot less than that.
It probably helps that Klopp is a bit of a legend at the German club. The 48-year-old played for Mainz for 15 seasons and became their longest-serving manager after he had hung up his boots
