Chelsea vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Live Score, Highlights from Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League title hopes are hanging by a thread. Looking to sever those hopes on Monday night in an act that, perversely, will lose them their own status as reigning champions, are London rivals Chelsea.
That Tottenham still have a (slim) chance at winning the league is something. A victory for leaders Leicester City yesterday would have ended the fight, but the Foxes' 1-1 draw with Manchester United means there is more at stake at Stamford Bridge than many anticipated.
Perhaps a more realistic aim for Mauricio Pochettino's side would be securing their current second-place spot. If they win tonight, they will widen the gap between them and third-place Arsenal to five points with just two matches remaining.
Chelsea still have work to do to secure a top-half finish, but that's only likely to paper over the cracks of a fractured season.
Blues fans will take more joy from denying Spurs the title and extending the north London club's 26-year winless streak on Chelsea soil in the process.
