Barcelona, Nike agree to new sponsorship deal worth $174M annually

Barcelona and Nike renewed their uniform sponsorship deal on Saturday for big bucks.

Nike is throwing around some big bucks to be represented on some of the most recognizable sporting brands in the world. Three days after Nike agreed to a monster kit deal with Chelsea, the swoosh is spending more money to re-up with Barcelona.
According to Barcelona newspapers Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo, the new contract could be worth as much as €155m (around $174 million) per year and the contract runs through 2026.

“FC Barcelona and Nike, Inc have extended their current sponsorship deal, which was due to end on 30 June, 2018,” Barcelona said on Saturday, via The Guardian. “The long-term agreement is a landmark in global football and builds upon a highly successful partnership.“
This commitment is huge from the financial commitment as well as the time commitment as they’ll be partnered together for the next decade.
Barcelona is one of the biggest sports brands in the world with six La Liga championships over the last eight seasons and are among the top competitors in the Champions League on a yearly basis with their roster that features some of the biggest stars in the sport
