Neymar heading for the Barcelona exit

It might well be time to start taking the rumours seriously about Neymar’s departure from Barcelona.
For much of the past season we were constantly told that Neymar would be signing a new contract at Barcelona as he has just two years left on his current deal.
The 2015/2016 season finished with Neymar winning the domestic double with Barcelona but still there has been no announcement on a new contract and increasingly, the Brazilian appears to hold all the cards.

Neymar has 4 offers

On Sunday, Spanish website ABC confirm that Neymar has four offers, from Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Currently on holiday, having missed Brazil’s woeful Copa America campaign and as he prepares for the Olympics, Neymar has not made up his mind and has just two seasons left to run on his Barcelona deal.

ABC claim that Neymar’s father Da Silva Santos, and his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, have advised him to take one of the three offers and go to one of three European clubs willing to pay his release clause of €192 million.

28 million euros per year!

Barcelona’s offer would see Neymar jump from earning just over 9 million euros per season to 14 million euros per campaign.
Real Madrid are believed to be willing to pay Neymar 15 million euros per campaign, before bonuses and a six-year contract.
Moneybags PSG are once again flexing their financial muscles and have offered the best deal to Neymar. The Ligue 1 champions have out together a package worth 18.5 million euros which could eventually become 28 million euros per year if targets are reached.
PSG ownr Nasser al-Khelaifi is also willing to wait another season for Neymar to run his contract down at Barcelona.
Finally, Manchester United are, according to ABC, willing to pay 17 million euros per season to Neymar.

Manchester United would be… a challenge

From a sporting perspective, United are seen as the biggest challenge but do have Jose Mourinho now at the helm and like PSG, Neymar would be the main man were he to move to Old Trafford.
The French press still feel PSG have a real chance of bagging Neymar, in order to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But, this continues to feel like Neymar pushing for a better deal at Barcelona. After all, why leave the most successful European club of the past decade as one member of the finest attacking trio of all time?
