Manchester United scout Brazilian striker as they plot summer move

MANCHESTER UNITED have been scouting Sao Paulo striker Luiz Araujo, according to reports.

The 19-year-old impressed in last year's Under-20 Copa Libertadores, scoring five goals in five games to help Sao Paulo claim the title.

And ClubCall claim United had their South American scouts watching the Brazilian during Sao Paulo Under-20s' recent tour of Argentina.

They say officials watched Araujo in action against San Lorenzo last Tuesday and against River Plate over the weekend.

He scored one and set up another in the 2-1 win over San Lorenzo but failed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 6-1 win against River.

United are in the market for at least one new striker this summer having started this season with Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial as their only senior strikers.

And despite the emergence of 18-year-old Marcus Rashford since February, the Red Devils are looking to add more firepower to their squad.
