Levante 2-1 Atletico Madrid: Fernando Torres strikes early but Atletico's title hopes are ended by La Liga's bottom club

  • Atletico Madrid are out of La Liga title race after defeat at lowly Levante
  • Fernando Torres opened the scoring for the visitors within two minutes
  • Victor Casadesus headed past Jan Oblak to equalise on the half-hour
  • Giuseppe Rossi came off the bench to score Levante's last-gasp winner
  • Atleti trail leaders Barcelona by three points with a game left and have a substantially inferior goal difference to the Catalan outfit

Atletico Madrid's hopes of ripping the title from the hands of Barcelona were dealt a terminal blow by La Liga's bottom club.
Despite taking an early lead through Fernando Torres at Estadi Ciutat de Valencia, Atletico ended with nothing from the meeting as Victor Cadasesus equalised in the 30th minute before Giuseppe Rossi came off the bench to score a last-gasp winner for the hosts, who have already been relegated from the Spanish top flight.
Torres opened the scoring in the second minute, dinking the ball over Levante goalkeeper Diego Marino at the end of Koke's scything pass.

With Barcelona trouncing Espanyol, Atleti are out of the title race.
