John Terry set to miss his own Chelsea farewell party

John Terry could have played his last competitive game for Chelsea after
being sent off against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
The Chelsea captain was given his marching orders after receiving two yellow cards in the Blues' shock 3-2 defeat to Sunderland.
Given that the dismissal is Terry's second of the season, the former England defender now faces a two game ban, meaning he will miss the midweek game with Liverpool and Chelsea's final home game of the season at Stamford Bridge.
Terry was roundly ridiculed in 2012 after the defender celebrated Chelsea's 2012 Champions League triumph against Bayern Munich; despite being banned for the final in Munich.
The Chelsea captain, who has spent 18 years at the club, donned the club's home kit to celebrate their victory over Bayern Munich.
Terry is expected to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season with Chelsea so far failing to offer the 35-year-old a new contract.
John Terry was panned for donning his kit despite playing no part in the game
Any plans to mark John Terry's last competitive game at Stamford Bridge in a Chelsea shirt now look have been scuppered.Although there has yet to be confirmation on the length of Terry's likely ban, fellow Chelsea teammates Thibaut Courtois was handed a two game ban after receiving his second red earlier this season.
Twitter was in no mood to afford the long-serving Chelsea captain any whatsoever as the repercussions of Terry's sending off slowly sank in.
