Gareth Bale to bide his time before signing new Real Madrid contract
Gareth Bale to bide his time before signing new Real Madrid contract Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid has long been in doubt but some clarity has finally been shed on the Welshman’s situation.According to the Mirror, Bale is extremely happy at the Bernabeu and keen to sign a new deal having overcome various difficulties upon signing for a world-record fee of £86 million in 2013.A renewal of his current contract - which expires in 2019 - is now in the offing for the Wales international, with Real reportedly willing to offer a bumper two-year extension. And as with every new deal, improved wages are also to be discussed.
Bale currently earns an eye-watering £300,000-per-week and it’s inevitable that figure will increase considerably. However, it’s been revealed the 26-year-old will only commit to a fresh contract when Lionel Messi and Neymar’s new deals at Barcelona are confirmed.
Messi earns something in the region of £330,000-per-week, and following a season where Bale has proved he can succeed Cristiano Ronaldo as Real’s most important player, it’s believed the Welshman’s representatives want his wages to represent that.
Where Neymar is concerned, the Brazilian’s earnings could be increased so he becomes second-highest paid player behind his Argentine teammate, which could play into Bale’s hands.

What’s clear is Real want to keep their Welsh talisman. Bale was rumoured to be unhappy at Rafa Benitez’s sacking in January, but he’s since played a vital role in Los Blancos’ improved form.
It was his goal that steered Real into the Champions League final on Wednesday night, scoring from a tight angle in the first half against Manchester City.
In finding the back of the net against Manuel Pellegrini’s men, Bale has now scored his side’s winning goal in three of their last four games. It’s an important point to make that Ronaldo has been absent recently through injury.
A clash with rivals Atletico Madrid now awaits Zinedine Zidane’s Los Blancos, who will have their sights set on claiming a remarkable 11th European Cup title.

Their task is anything but simple, though. Despite navigating their way through difficult tests en route to the final, they face arguably their greatest yet in Diego Simeone’s impressive Atleti.
Deadly going forward and solid defensively, Antoine Griezmann and co. are in rampant form and will similarly be eyeing Champions League success, especially so after losing in such dramatic fashion to their rivals in the 2014 final.
A La Liga title is also at stake for the Madrid pair. Two games remain of the season, with Real trailing leaders Barcelona by a single point and Atleti level but in second because of an inferior head-to-head record.
